Aparajeyo-Bangladesh, an independent national human rights organization, is an Association of Members, whose business is governed by the Board of Directors. The Board Members together are responsible for the oversight of all the affairs of Aparajeyo. The Members are elected or re-elected on a fixed term according to procedures set out in our Memorandum and Articles of Association which is our governing document. We agree and implement an individual induction programme for each new Member, covering all aspects of the role of the organization. The Board seeks to ensure that all activities are within Bangladesh law and our agreed objectives. Its work includes setting strategic direction and agreeing the financial plan. Matters reserved for the Board are set out clearly in a schedule, which forms part of the standing orders and standing financial instructions of Aparajeyo. The Board acts on advice and information from regular meetings with the Executive Director and Senior Management Team. Decisions made at other levels of the organization are reported to the Board.
